Success - The Game

Martial arts. I used to train everywhere I went. I wasn't typical and I took private lessons for the most part. I had a passion for it and I wasn't satisfied with moving at the pace of the slowest person in the class. It probably cost me 8 or 9 times more, but I learned quite a bit...and I bypassed years of classroom training.

I would always reverse-engineer the moves so that I could gain an understanding of why it is designed that way. I would practice soloand imagine a situation where I would put this to use, for the sake of training my mind. There's no use in knowing the techniques if you're going to panic in a real-life situation. The only way to learn this, was to place myself in real situations. But I knew the subconscious mind didn't know the difference between real or an emotionalized visualization.

I immediately noticed how my body responded differently in pretend situations than in a classroom setting. I felt different mechanisms kick in, though at the time I didn't know what they were. I'd experience tunnel vision...advanced heart rate. I felt the blood rush to the outer muscles of the body.

I stayed in these moments to figure out exactly what was happening...what I was feeling. I then brought it up to others that were much better than myself, and while they didn't all know what was going on scientifically, they knew how to change it.

"When you're caught in a real situation, convince your mind that you're only sparring..." And boy did I convince. The mechanisms did not kick in and block my thought process.

In short, when you're dealing with life, with goals of any kind, you're going to be faced with a "real" opposition. This opposition will weigh in on your emotions and restrain you from making the right decisions. I tell people to take this challenge like a game. It will keep your mind clear.

The achievement of your goal is the finish line, and every action you take towards your goal brings you one step closer. Your opponent's job is to stop you from getting to your goal, and the only way he can do this is by creating things that cancel out your action. If the bridge that you intended to cross is burning down, you won't give up on your goal. Your focus(in the game) is on the end result, so you only tell yourself, "Well that option didn't work. How else am I going to get across?" Your focus is on the end result...not on the current circumstance.

In life, we have learned to look at circumstances, rather than end results. Time to change your perspective.

5 Decisions To Shred Fear Out Of Your Life

I have personally witnessed thousands of people worldwide imprisoned by fear.  They are trapped behind the bars of not being worthy of success and shackled to their past mistakes. Are you one of those prisoners?  Have you been wrongly convicted and given a life sentence by the enemy of fear?  It's time for you to break free!  How can you possibly break through the bondage that has kept you chained down and unable to move forward in years?  Make a decision.  That's right.  You must make the decision that you will no longer be a slave to fear.

The original Hebrew root of the word "decision" means to cut off and get rid of.  It's done. It's finished.  No more. It's decision time!  Take a deep breath and get ready to change your life with these five decisions that will shred fear out of your life.

Decision #1: Make the Shift

In the movie, "Facing the Giants", the coach cares enough about one of his players to get in his face and confront him about his fear. He sees that the player has the gift of leadership, but is wasting it.  The coach pushes the player and makes him go to a level where he's never been.  He's got to see beyond where he's been by doing something that he's never done.  At that point, the shift happens...the shift from the past to the present...from where he's been to where he wants to go now.

A shift gets developed when you're focused.  Lack of focus will kill your dreams! When you make that shift and get laser-focused, it's guaranteed that you will achieve your goals and dreams.  Unfortunately, the biggest distractions in our lives that cause us to lose focus are other people.  These people don't believe in you or your dream.  They are insecure dream stealers that won't take the action for that shift in life to happen.  There's only one thing to do when you are surrounded by these types of people...get away!  If they are family or close friends, then it's time to love them, leave them and show them.  Let them know that you love them but you have to take time for yourself to achieve your dreams and then your action that you show them in pursuit of your goals and dreams will greatly change how they see you.  What happens next?  The shift!

Decision #2: Take Ownership of Your Why

One of the top things that you must do to get fear out of your life is take ownership of your Why, which is your ultimate purpose. It's the reason you get out of bed every day.  When you take ownership of your Why, you own it no matter what happens, no matter what occurs each and every day. It's your Why and nobody can take that from you!  Your Why is the insurance that backs up your goals and dreams. There's no way that you can give up on your daily quest to achieve your goals and dreams if have taken full ownership of your Why.

You have to protect your Why, because it's yours and you own it.  If someone walked into your home and started taking your valuables, I have no doubt that you would stop them, because it's your stuff!  You own it!  However, why do most people allow the naysayers to steal your Why on a daily basis?  It's simple.  They haven't taken true ownership of their Why in life.  You have to fight for your Why like you would fight for your belongings. If you have someone in your life trying to take your Why away from you, the get rid of them.  Like I said before, love them, leave them and show them.  It's your Why so take some action to protect it!

Decision #3: Make Your Pledge

A pledge is a declaration, a solemn vow.   It's your responsibility to make a pledge to yourself and your Why to be the very best that you can get every single day.  When you make a declaration to yourself and everyone around you that you will not give up on your Why, fear will flee!  There's no room for fear if you are truly committed to your Why!

That's right.  I said a commitment! Your pledge is a formal commitment.  It doesn't waiver or falter during the tough times.  Your pledge causes you to lead by example with your attitude, words, ethics, and values.  Your pledge is the driving force behind your Why.  It pushes you and serves as a constant reminder about your commitment.

With the confrontation and resistance that constantly bombard us in society, your pledge will be challenged.  You will be pressured to give up, because the world says that your pledge is not realistic. What do you do? When you get pushed, push back hard and speak your Why in the face of the enemy.  You have made pledge, a vow, to your Why and you must refuse to let anyone cause you to doubt it.  Remember, you've made the shift in your life to go to the next level, you've taken ownership of your Why, and now your pledge to your Why is in place.  So, what's next?

Decision #4: Build Your Mastermind Team

Your mastermind team is your support system.  They empower you to prosper in every area of your life no matter what obstacles stand in your way or the adversity that you face. Now, close your eyes and visualize who is on your mastermind team.  Does that image make you smile or does it cause you to realize why you are failing in various areas of your life?

If the people on your mastermind team do not add value you to your life and encourage you to go after your dreams, then it's time for a change.  An unmotivated, discouraging mastermind team will ruin your chances of ever achieving your ultimate Why in life.  These types of people are selfish and their motives are very different than yours. Fear will constantly consume you if you continue to allow these people to negatively affect your life.

What if you have no one in your closest circle of influence that you would ask to be on your mastermind team? Well, it's time for you to venture outside of that circle and meet some new people that have similar goals and dreams. The Lifestyle Freedom Club is the #1 success and motivation club in the world, and the members are motivated champions just like you!  Check out this amazing place to build your mastermind team at www.LifestyleFreedomClub.com.  No fear exists in this club!

Decision #5: Create a Solid Foundation

When a house is built, a lot of time is spent laying the foundation.  If the foundation is not solid, then the house will eventually crumble.  Similarly, you cannot achieve your Why in life without a solid foundation of commitment.  Your Why will fall apart and become unachievable if you are not seriously committed.

Imagine your commitment as the foundation of your Why house.  The windows are your daily action steps, the walls are your habits, the roof consists of your mastermind team, and so on.  Do you realize how easily this entire structure will fail if your commitment is shaky?  It might be stable for a while but it will eventually fall down around you.

You also strengthen your foundation by continuing to grow your roots deeper and deeper.  Your roots are developed by immersing yourself in personal development - listening to motivational CDs, reading inspirational books, etc.  Your belief in yourself and your ability to achieve your Why will skyrocket when you create that daily habit of learning.  As your belief builds, your roots grow and your foundation becomes more solid.

I'm often asked if it's okay to take some time off.  When you stop your daily success habits and take a break from your personal development, cracks will start to develop in your foundation.  Even the slightest little crack will allow the weed of fear to sprout through and endanger your Why.  If you are truly committed to the achievement of your Why in life, then you should absolutely no desire to take a break from your success journey.

Now, let's recap...

Decision #1: Make the Shift
Decision #2: Take Ownership of Your Why
Decision #3: Make Your Pledge
Decision #4: Build Your Mastermind Team
Decision #5: Create a Solid Foundation

Now, it's your turn!  Take action today and make these five decisions to get rid of the fear that is haunting you and preventing you from going forward in life.  Don't let the enemy of fear win.  You are a Champion and you can defeat fear!

Habits of Success: Imagination Association and Emotion

Imagination is a success tool that I have covered in previous articles but not in the way I am about to disclose it to you now. I'm going to explore "Success Equation" secrets about association and emotion, and how they act in unity with imagination to direct your destiny and the results you receive in life. Association is another interlocking piece of the puzzle and is thrown in as a bonus to top things off.

An association is like the instructions tied to the shortcut icons on your desktop. Symbols are the icons on your desktop. Symbols on the desktop of your life sit quietly until you activate them with your attention. When you place attention on the symbol it clicks the icon and there is action involved - association takes you to other instructions about what to think, feel, and what the meanings are. Basically, it takes you to the linked mental files it's programmed to run.

Emotions, symbols and instructions often get installed on the desktops of our minds without our watchful eye and consent. It just happens. These files, icons, associative instructions, etc. may be programmed for your success or for something else. A short look at imagination, association, and emotion as they work together for success or for detriment is the foundation of this article.

The powers of imagination, when mixed with emotion, have far reaching effects. They impact your life, health, success, physiology, and the environment around you. Good, bad, or otherwise, these images and feelings communicate to the sub-conscious self in a clear direct language made up of symbols, meanings, and emotions. The symbols and association are represented by how you use your imagination to create feelings, emotions, and meanings about the images you hold in your mind. Repeated patterns develop an association, a bridge or trigger to the emotion and thoughts (the files.) It sounds complicated at first, so just bear with me.

Imagination is involved in  your feelings and associations about things. Things in life and things about life become represented by symbols in our minds. Money, for instance, may be one of those symbols and yet it may represent far more to us in our mind than a simple piece of paper with green ink on it. It might be associated with joy, pleasure and abundance, or sadness, fear and struggle. It really depends on the individual and on the association. When you activate the symbol on the desktop association takes you to the information you have stored and associated with it.

When you imagine wealth and success, or any of your worthy desires and goals, how do you feel about it, picture it, think about it, etc.? The feelings (emotions) you have associated (linked) to what you imagine are extremely powerful methods of communication.  This communication impacts not only the conscious self, but also the sub-conscious mind and the very fabric of the creative universe. For example, if I consistently and repeatedly generate an image of money or rich people in my mind while simultaneously engaging in feelings of mistrust, anger, and betrayal, I will program my nervous system to create a link or association. I will literally associate (link) this file to the icon or symbol of money/rich people. No matter what the character of money or rich people may actually be, the reaction I generate will be consistent with the conditioning and beliefs I have programmed into my nervous system (whatever is linked.) This produces a dramatic result and it is highly effective. This is the way we create links (get programmed) and also the same way we reprogram associations (create new links). It is a very simple, powerful and direct method of communication
.

The important point to keep in mind is that this type of mental programming works very, very, well. Learn to master it for your benefit and abundant success.

Look at the desktop of your life what are the primary icons (symbols) and what links (associations) are tied to them? Do they serve you or not? Reprogram yourself if necessary. Then strengthen (condition) the new link until the programming becomes automatic and sticks.

When you point this powerful conditioning process toward a worthy objective the results are dramatic improvement. If you are thinking of and imagining wealth and success, while picturing a symbolic representation of wealth and success, or listening to an expression of wealth and success, and your strong association or feeling is of pure joy, excitement, passion, fulfillment, happiness, hope, etc. what is the clear message to your subconscious self? The message is...go get this! This is what I want! Set course and full speed ahead for the designated destination! This kind of empowered communication will engage conscious and subconscious resources for your benefit.

Consequently, if you are entertaining apprehensive, doubtful, angry or fearful, feelings the communication you send will put you in the opposite direction. It tells you danger lies ahead as you start moving toward riches and success. Your brains job is largely to protect you and it won't fail to carry out the protocol. It's as if you clicked the money icon on the desktop but it wasn't a good link. It's not a link that's ever going to take you to money or riches. If you seek money and success in your future you'll need to reprogram the links first.

If you intend to condition your subconscious and conscious mind for maximum success, wealth, joy, happiness, and abundance and you'll need to if you want to succeed in MLM or in life, you'll need to choose how to best use your imagination to serve your needs. Set your intention and vision to work accomplishing this. What kind of imagination habits are you going to need to supercharge and fire you forward into positive action, motivation, passion, and belief? What kind of belief and associations will take you the furthest the fastest with the least amount of resistance?

Become clear and congruent with yourself, set clearly defined goals and program imagination, emotion, and association for ultimate success. Are you willing to put forth the effort and practice necessary to strengthen and harness the power of this incredible asset? Can you associate joy and good feelings with this icon? Will you regularly employ imagination to expect and manifest success? These are questions that answered properly and applied properly through the "Success Equation" produce incredible results.

Failing All The Way To The Top

As I was thinking about the title of this writing, I said to myself, The only way to title it is to be right to the point. Every successful person has failed many more times than they have succeeded. Therefore the title...FAILING ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP is perfect. Being a person who is focused on personal goals in life and is mission-orientated, you will inevitably fail over and over all the way as you progress to fulfilling your WHY! The key is to truly understand that you WILL fail as you progress to the top. As soon as you realize every failure is a stepping stone to the top and that the more stones you have in place the higher your success level will be, then you will be on the right track. The following is a list of people we all know who are considered the top in their fields and all who failed many times but never quit. Always remember: winners never quit and quitters never win!

James Earl Jones once waxed floors to earn a living.  JFK lost the election for freshman class president at Harvard.  Walt Disney was dyslexic as a child, and his first cartoon production company went bankrupt.  Dr. Seusss first book was rejected by 27 publishers, and he even considered burning the manuscript!  Jay Leno failed the employment test at Woolworths.  John Grisham's first book was rejected by sixteen agents and 12 publishers.  Michael Jordan was cut from his high schools varsity football team as a sophomore.  John Di Lemme was a stutterer for many years of his life and is now an international, motivational speaker and strategic business coach that helps people achieve their dreams, goals and desires!  These are just a few examples among millions of people who overcame supposed failures and have gone on to be great successes. You need to ask yourself,
How strong is my WHY? Can you endure the price you must pay in order to achieve your WHY?  Find Your Why NOW!

4 Powerful Ways To Fire Up Your Motivation

At times we all find it so difficult to go on when everything seems to fail, isn't it? Are there times in your life when you really want to call it "quits" because you just can't see any good results from all the hard work you've done?

So what are we to do at times like these? How do we cope?

Never ever think of giving up. Winners never quit and quitters never win as the old saying goes. Take all negative words out of your mental dictionary and be aware of what you are saying at all times, focus on the solutions with utmost conviction and patience.

The battle is never lost until you've abandoned your vision.

But what if you're really exhausted physically, mentally, and most of all emotionally? Here are some sources of motivation to prompt and assist you in reaching the peak of accomplishment.

1) The Overwhelming Feeling of Attaining your Desired End

How would you feel after accomplishing your mission? Of course you will feel ecstatic. You might be shedding tears of joy. Let this tremendous feeling sink in and encourage you to persist despite all odds.

As I work on Achievement Radio and the many challenges it presents day in and day out, I used this technique to motivate me. I pull out my goals sheet with my core values and vision statements, I use these to remind me of the difference Achievement Radio makes in the lives of so many people all over the world. I imagine you listening and getting that one idea or new thought that will create a new energy and life that is better than you ever thought possible. I absorbed all these great perceptions into my inner being in order to achieve my ultimate goal. Then, I get busy taking action on my goals!

2) The Reward System . Make it Real and True to Your Goals

How would you feel if you've entered a contest, but there are no prizes for the winners? It's not very encouraging, isn't it?

The same principles apply to your vision. Reward yourself after accomplishing a goal. Set a particular incentive for every objective. Start out with small milestones and goals if this is new to you and work your way up.

Let's say if you've achieved a particular task, you'll treat yourself to your favorite restaurant. When you've finished a bigger task, you'll go on a vacation.

Got the idea?

Just set something gratifying to indulge in after completing a certain undertaking that is directly related to you most important goals.

3) The Powerful Force of Humanity

If you want to succeed, surround yourself with the right kind of people who will support and encourage you all the way.

Be with people who have the same beliefs and aspirations as yours. Positive aura is generated by this fusion of collective energy from people of "like minds."

On the contrary, being with people who oppose your ways of thinking may trigger a negative, yet very powerful, kind of motivation.

Has anyone ever said to you that "You'll never get anywhere?" or "You're wasting your time with what you're doing?"

Didn't it made you furious and determined enough to prove to them how wrong they were? This is what I'm talking about.

When aggravated, you will do anything to make those who are against you swallow their words. But of course, you're primary focus should be on the accomplishment of your goal and not for the purpose of revenge. Never let your emotions toward others alter your main objective.

4) Take Care Of Your Health

As Jim Rohn says, You can't do good if you don't feel good.

Exercise regularly. Fill your brains with enough oxygen to allow you to do your daily tasks with more vigor and energy.

Take regular breaks if time allows. Having the willpower to continue despite all hardships is extremely important, but you should still know your limits.

If you don't take enough rest, you will not be able to think clearly and you will not be able to do your tasks properly. In the process, you will just get more frustrated.

Take sufficient sleep and recharge yourself after a hard day's work. Never, ever ignore your health. I've learned my hard lesson when I sacrificed my health for the sake of success. I've worked very long hours every day and just got minimal sleep. As a result, I became ill.

It's not worth it. Success and money won't matter if you don't have good health to enjoy it.

Fire up your motivation and live life to the fullest! You can do this, keep your focus on what you value most. Let nothing take you off your course. The prize goes to those who bring value to the marketplace and provide more value for the customer's investment. Know deep down inside you can and will walk away with all the success, happiness and prosperity you deserve.

Motivational Speaker - Overcoming Depression

You'll be given a taste of science right now that will grant you the keys to any emotional state that you want to create or undo. I am a motivational speaker on success, typically on financial success, but I come from a neurological angle. This information is the key to any achievement. After all, success is not money, but achievement.

We're going to roll fast.

All of our actions are ultimately an end result of our beliefs. We are commanded by our beliefs and habits. Our environment supports these. The three together make up our CONDITIONING. We only do 4 percent what we desire to do and 96 percent what we're CONDITIONED to do. Beliefs are neural networks on the subconscious mind. They are pathways that we follow...pathways of instruction. The subconscious mind is responsible for 96-98 percent of our actions and perceptions. We don't see with our eyes, rather our eyes only allow light to enter just like our ears allow sound to enter. It is our brain that deciphers what that data actually is. So we see with our brains. In a nutshell, here's how it works. It is important that you know this.

We have something call the Reticular Activating System(RAS) that works like a filter between the communication of our conscious and our subconscious mind. It is like a search engine that is looking for any and every bit of data that is relevant to your beliefs. Whatever it finds that is relevant, it sends it over to our conscious mind and only then do we consciously recognize it. An example would be how you may buy a new car, and suddenly you're noticing every car on the road that's like yours. It's not that those cars were not there before, you just weren't tuned to see them.

There is also another mechanism in the brain called the PSYCHO-CYBERNETIC MECHANISM(PCM). This mechanism is responsible for making sure that we are always staying within the boundaries of our beliefs. If we step out, it sends a chemical into the body that causes doubt, fear, and anxiety. This in turn, causes us to back away from whatever we're doing, and get back to what the brain thinks is SAFETY. It determines what "safety" is by how often we travel that path or entertain that belief.

So now, let's put this into an example. You believe you're in a state of depression (or whatever it may be). Your brain knows what you think depression is so it gives your RAS instruction to let you recognize everything that supports that belief. The articles, the shows, the songs, the people, etc. You'll be reading of symptoms of depression, noticing that you have exactly that. Everything that is pro-happiness or opposing to depression, spits out because your RAS thinks it's not what you're looking for.

Somehow you take the next step and force yourself to read a book that just seems like it will help. The hope you find in the book hits a part of your conscious mind, causing you to feel for a moment, that you can overcome this. It gets placed into your declarative memory system, and your brain sends a chemical called dopamine into your body which makes you feel happy and pumped that you will change. However, the declarative memory system(explicit memory system) is not the part of the brain that makes changes. The objective is to get this over to the implicit memory system...the embedded beliefs.

By changing the beliefs, we change the things that the RAS is going to let you consciously recognize. We also reset what the PCM recognizes as "safe" so that it stops juicing you with doubts and fears that keep you from achieving.

The short version of changing your beliefs is summed up as, "What you constantly hold in your mind and focus on with emotion, gets impressed onto your subconscious mind." In turn, if you still focus on your current beliefs, you are still feeding them. So your objective is to focus on things that are pro-happiness for you...things that you would only dream of doing. It will be difficult. It won't be painful, just difficult because it will take your full commitment. People don't succeed because they do not determine to do WHATEVER it takes to change.

It's up to you. But it's a world of healing and abundance. And it's yours for the believing.

6 Self Improvement Steps To Ensure Your Success

If you have ever gone to a positive thinking rally you have heard how important it is that you improve yourself if you want to improve your success. In this article, we will look at a few self-improvement things you can do in your life.

1. First of all you have to want to change. This can be fueled by understanding what it is that you are striving for. Without possessing a strong desire to want to change you are wasting your time and will never totally achieved the success you deserve.

2. Secondly, identify something that you are good at and that you can build upon to improve yourself. This goes against the grain of people telling you to concentrate on things that you are not good at. If you can improve yourself by starting with something you are good at and making it better this will improve your self-image and help you when you attempt to improve other things.

3. Thirdly self-improvement and success go hand-in-hand when you are able to maintain a positive attitude even when things are negative all around you. To improve yourself you have to begin to see the positive in every situation.

4. Next be sure and schedule some me time. This is important because of all the things that can bog you down every day. You need to take a little bit of time and concentrate on you and doing things that you enjoy. Many people spend their whole lives doing things for others. You can not improve yourself if you do not concentrate a little bit on yourself first.

5. You probably cannot write an article about self-improvement and success without mentioning goal setting. It has been proven in the past that nothing happens until you write it down. Not only writing it down but committing it to memory by reading it several times a day. Write down goals where you want to be a long-term basis and on a short-term basis as well.

6. Analyze what you have accomplished and give yourself a pat on the back. Even if you have not achieved everything that you set out to do if you are taking steps forward, you deserve to recognize yourself for that. Then you can reorganize your goals and work again from where you are at now to where you want to be.

In conclusion, these are six self-improvement steps to help ensure your success. If you are always working on improving your success in your life will be easier to achieve.

Follow Your Dreams

These beliefs successfully block out our consideration of the possibility to have our dream life. This is about your dream. Let's get to the point.

I am Dennis Andrew, founder of NNOS Studios. My mission is to cause people to follow their dreams regardless of the resistance they face. I will accomplish this by suggesting a slightly different perspective on what your dreams or passions actually are, and the consequences for not following them.

Here's the groundwork: Any dream can be turned into a goal, and any goal can be achieved. Read it again. Let's get very clear on what a goal really is: a goal is a dream that has been scheduled for arrival. A dream becomes a goal when you set a time limit for its acquisition, and you determine to get it so strongly, that no person or circumstance stepping in your way can sway you from your purpose. Nothing can resist a will that will stake even existence upon its fulfillment.

This is because goals are a point of destination for our brains. Marinate in that for a bit. Goals are a point of destination for our brains.

If goals are a point of destination for our brains, then don't be fooled: if you have no point of destination, it doesn't matter how good or how fast you are, you're still getting nowhere. The brain only let's you see what it is looking for, regardless of what you want to be looking for. In fact, we only do 4 percent what we desire to do, and 96 percent what we're conditioned to do. Our conditioning is our beliefs, and most of us are conditioned to run like heck with no real point of destination. We are programmed to get up and go to work, doing something that pays the bills. Because we're conditioned this way, we don't even stop to question it at all...These beliefs successfully stop us from dreaming or focusing on our passion, thus not even allowing the opportunity to consider their possibility. These beliefs successfully block out our consideration of the possibility to have our dream life.

Not only is it possible for everyone, life becomes a waste if we don't achieve it. Here's the piece: "your dream is the talent that YOU have particularly high potential to excel in. Your passion is your unique skill." Use it.

Let me give you an analogy. Your friend has a 550 horsepower Ferrari and it's a beautiful car. The only problem is, he only uses it to get his mail and his mailbox is at the end of his driveway. When Enzo Ferrari made that car, that's not what he had in mind. Sounds insane doesn't it? Well we were designed AROUND a specific passion. You were made to follow your dreams, because your dream is your calling. The Ferrari was made to race, to drive at very high speeds on exciting courses. You're not made to have a job...just doing something. You're made to work within your dreams, "because that's what you do best." The Ferrari is still doing "something" by taking your friend to his mailbox and back, but it is now evident that the Ferrari is a waste of design, of engineering, if it is not going to be doing what it's made to do.

The consequence for not following your dreams or passions is not only a statistical waste, but it results in unhappiness. Rightfully so. You're putting your potential on a leash JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T BELIEVE THAT YOU CAN HAVE IT! You're conforming to culture. This literally means you're letting society tell you what you are capable of doing. The solution is to learn how to change your beliefs. If you don't you are only another case of history repeating itself. The good new is that it's very possible if you don't give up. The bad news is that it's difficult and it takes some time. But it's only difficult in the short run. After that, you're living the dream.

 by Dennis Andrew

I will include a link in my bio to one of the motivational presentations I had on this topic. I speak often on setting goals and have helped many many people achieve their dreams. My goal is to point you there also...because you'll reach the person that I can't reach, and it will spread from there.

The Triangle for Success

Success is a direct result of applying the right principles to your professional life and your personal life. The question is what are the right principles to apply in order to achieve success? Over the years of studying, four primary principles of success continue to surface from the ancient writers. I call these four principles the triangle of success.

The "triangle" of success because one principle is placed at each corner of the triangle and the crucial principle is positioned in the heart of the triangle. The heart of the triangle is what promises success to the other three principles.

The other three principles at the corner of the triangles embody the essence of men and women. You will see what I am talking about as I unfold these three.

Mind
The first corner of the triangle is your thinking process; or in other !
words exercising your mind. Learning is a necessary step towards growing. Growth is imperative to achieve success. Aristotle puts it succinctly, he writes, "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it."

Success follows the ability to analyze a subject, make sound judgments while moving toward your objectives. "You are to be a student, not a follower", says Jim Rohn. That is exactly what professionals are, they are students. Success is the goal; therefore, continuous training, instruction, and being mentored is the process.

Those who are successful pay the price. They apply the disciplines of learning. They have placed value on education and training. I, personally, think that if you are a student, always applying the disciplines of learning, that your philosophies of life will be improving, better ideas come to your thinking, which all leads to success.

Education is something that no one can ever take away from you. It helps to develop and define who you are.

"The best of all things is to learn. Money can be lost or stolen, health and strength may fail, but what you have committed to your mind is yours forever."
 --Louis L'Amour (1908-1988)

Emotions
Your emotion is the second corner of the triangle. Passionately pursuing after your objectives leads to success. This is not to say that your objectives come before people in your life, but the principle is to be well taken-success is dependent on your inner drive to achieve it.

The truth is, you will do what you want to do. If you want something bad enough you will dwell on it all of the time doing whatever is necessary to reach your goal. That is passion. Kahlil Gibran said, "All that spirits desire, spirits attain."

Perhaps G. W. F. Hegel says is best, "Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion."  You see what I mean when I said above that these principles surface every where I studied? These are the principles that made men and women great.

The reasons that they do surface is that these principles are at the core of who and what we are made of inside. You were designed with a purpose and the driving force within you motivates you to accomplish your purpose in life.

"Dwell not upon thy weariness, thy strength shall be according to the measure of thy desire."
Arab Proverb

Will
The third corner of the triangle is your will. Eventually, you have to step out and do what you desire. If you never decide to reach for your dream, you will remain in the stands with the majority of people in life.

Perhaps you have fear, hurt, or insecurity, holding you back; if you permit these or any others to control your actions success stands aloof. A mentor at this point may be more helpful, than, reading a book or two. At times we need someone to hold us accountable so that we will do the necessary follow through.

Depending on your temperament exercising your will towards your objectives may take a lot of courage, but courage is what guarantees that these others will work. If you don't have the courage to start you never will know, now will you?

I can not stress it strong enough that taking action is one of the most important principles to achieving your dreams. Jim Rohn, says, "Some are always picking the fruit, while others are always, examining the roots." Consistent action will produce results. It is the law of sowing and reaping. You reap what you sow, in other words, you get what you deserve, not what you need. Plant enough seeds and you will find growth. It is the law of ratio. Ask enough people and someone will join or buy.

"The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will."  - Vincent T. Lombardi

Perseverance
Now, what is in the heart or center of the triangle that will enable you to succeed? Every successful person has this. Do you know? I will give you a clue it begins with a P, now you fill in the blank, P__________. It is perseverance! Perseverance is the inner strength to get back into the battle after you have been wounded. As I observe those who succeed and those who don't, it appears to me that the difference is in perseverance.

Those with perseverance don't stop until they reach their goal. They are relentless! Just when you thought they were down and out this time, sure as the world, they manage, some how, to get back up again.

I love to visit Chocolate World. It is located in Hershey, PA. They make, obviously, Hershey's chocolate. You get to take a tour to see how they make all of that chocolate and at the end of the ride you get a piece of free chocolate and/or the opportunity to buy all the chocolate you want. But, the significant part of the tour is reading "bits and pieces" of Milton Hershey's life (the founder). He, like so many others, failed three times in the business world, before he was successful. He had a dream and would not let go of it.

Was he ever discouraged? You know he was. Did he ever want to quit? Who doesn't? Did others talk bad about him? I think some still do. However, those are not the right questions to ask. Better questions are: "Did he quit?" And "What kept him from quitting?"  Or, "How did he persevere?"

No, he did not give up. He persevered through the hard times and some unbearable problems. How did he do that? What kept him going? The same way thousand's of others did it. The big "P" was in the center of the triangle. Perseverance was the heart of their passion, attitude, and will.

Napolean Hill captures the three corners of the triangle when he writes, "Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at once, whether you ready or not, to put this plan into action."  As you add perseverance to this success formula it is one sure way to, at least, do your part to succeed. There are never any promises how life will turn out, but one thing for sure, neglect the right principles and you are removing the possibilities of success.

I will conclude with the words of Abraham Lincoln, "Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing."

Why Success And Self Esteem Go Hand In Hand

When you observe successful people you see they possess many different traits. One of those is self esteem. Have you ever wondered how it is possible to have self-esteem when everything around you seems to be going bad. In this article we will look at some of the things that can affect your self-esteem and how you can overcome them to become a more successful person.

If you have a job it is easy to become affected negatively by those around you. There are many different types of people in the work environment, including people who complain, people who'll stab you in the back, brown nosers others who will do anything to get ahead, people who will never stop whining, and so on.

If you are not careful you can find yourself becoming just like them. It is important that you understand where your life is headed regardless of any problems you currently have. Having a positive self-esteem is important to you in your efforts to control how you act around negative people.

Another thing that can really affect your self esteem is everything that is going on in the world. Many successful people will tell you they do not watch the news or pay much attention to what is going on outside of their immediate lives.

This is important because the news as it is reported today constantly hypes all of the bad that is going on. Even in a story that is predominantly good the angle will be slanted toward the bad side of it. Reading a newspaper every day, or watching television, can affect your self-image because of all the negative you hear and see.

Another thing that can affect your self esteem is something that is happened to you in the past. It is important that you are able to develop your life and get beyond something that negatively happen to you.  If you continue to do well on things that you can no longer control in your past. You will have a hard time becoming successful in moving your life for work.

Some people will go so far as to take therapy classes, either individually or in groups. Depending on what you are dealing with it is important that you somehow determine this will no longer affect your life and then move forward.

In summary your self esteem does affect how successful you will become. To become a more positive person and view yourself worthy of success, you must control how you deal with negativity and how you think.

What's Your Excuse for Not Being Successful in Life?

Excuses! Excuses! When we fail to do something we are expected to do, we almost always have an excuse for it. However, if we analyze it closely, an excuse is a self-destructive alibi for having failed to do something, especially when it involves attaining a goal. Instead of trying to persevere in finding ways to continue achieving a goal, some of us resort to excuses.

Even a handicap cannot be used as an excuse. Many handicapped but determined people have become achievers and champions. Instead of using a handicap as an excuse, let us turn it into an asset. Let us explore this further.

A handicap need not be a reason for failure. On the contrary, a handicap can be a reason for success. People with a handicap always have an offsetting strength that allows them to overcome problems better than others.

A person with a handicap has one obsession - to lead a normal life. Depending on the handicap, a person would prefer to be as independent as possible. So he struggles and finds ways to overcome his impediment. When he is able to achieve his goal, this raises his self-esteem. In turn, he inspires others.

Everybody has handicaps in varying forms and degree. That is why; it requires effort and determination to overcome them. Handicaps can either be physical, financial, or emotional. And they can either be real or imagined.

Whenever we look at a handicap, we almost always look on the negative side only. It's about time we take a look at the positive side of it. The positive side may be the difficult side, but it's the one worth looking into. It's the side that is going to lead us to excel in life.

If you think your handicap is physical, like having a weak body, you can counteract this through proper diet and training exercises. As long as the physical parts of your body are intact and mobile, there's no reason why you cannot make it strong and useful. Why? Even those without a leg (for example) can be made to walk or run normally. With the advancement of science, artificial legs can help a handicap function with great mobility.

It your handicap is financial, then the more reason you have to rise above your present status. And if your financial status limits your educational attainment to improve your life, the school is not the only place to learn. Certainly, there are help centers to get you started even from zero level. Once you are initially warmed up with the basics of an education, the rest is up to you. Make use of libraries. Once you are educationally equipped, use your brain and come up with creative ideas to improve your life.

If you are emotionally disturbed with negative thoughts, it is like you are sitting on a chair with wobbling legs. Try sitting on a chair with sturdy legs; meaning, look at the bright, positive side of life. Put aside negativity and start thinking positively. The only one who can stop you is yourself.

If your handicap is a combination of any of the physical, financial, or emotional type, congratulations. You should strive more to overcome them, because a double layer of perseverance results to more than double the achievement. Where the odds are greater, the prize gets much bigger. After all the efforts you have exerted, the prize of success shall be a well-deserved one.

So what's your excuse for not being successful?

3 Psychological Blocks Holding You Back and How To Overcome Them

A lot of people are yet to achieve their dreams and goals. When you talk to them, they give a lot of reasons as to why they are yet to attain their true potential.
These reasons might seem okay at first glance. They might seem valid as a lot of people have them, but they are no more than what they truly are. Excuses.
If these things are examined critically, you will see that no one should have any of these as an excuse.
First Barrier: I am very busy
A lot of people say that they have no time. If you think that a huge chunk of time will magically appear for you to do that thing you've been postponing for some time, you are wrong.
There might never be enough time. No one has more than 24 hours in a day. You have to find the time and do what you want to do.
There are so many unnecessary things that we do today that take a whole lot of our time. These things are not compulsory, and they add nothing to our lives. Yet, we do them repeatedly and think that time will magically appear from nowhere.
Cut off those TV shows. Stop spending a lot of time on social media. Turn off distracting notifications on your smartphones.

Those things do you no good, and yet you spend a lot of time on them. Cut them out, and you will see that you have a lot of time for the most important things.
Stop waiting for the day or week when you will have a lot of time. Stop waiting for a vacation or a magical break. Create that time now.
Start with a simple time allocation. Then you can increase the time allocated as time goes on.
Second Barrier: I don't know enough
A lot of times we think that what we know is insufficient. We think that we need to take our time in learning everything about something before we start.
We think that we need to spend more time analyzing, researching, learning the ropes, evaluating samples etc.
Yes, it is good to learn the basics before jumping into something new. But there must be a limit to this. You can spend all the time learning and learning. You need to take a step forward.
A lot of people overdo the learning process. They never stop learning. They take too much time without ever starting.
To solve this, give yourself a definitive time frame. Give yourself an exact amount of time that you must use to learn something and spend just that time.
Do not spend more than the allocated time. Once that time is up, stop learning and start whatever you want to start.
Third Barrier: I need this or that to start
Sometimes we think that we need to have everything before we start something.
We think that we need to have a completely furnished office with a secretary before we start a business.
We think that we need the latest camera or the latest photo editing software before we start photography.
We think that we need the latest oven and kitchen equipment before we start our catering service.
We think that we need to get some special clothing, a smartwatch or a home gym before we start exercising.
If you don't start with what you have, you may never start at all. No one started with everything. They started little and added more to what they had gradually.
Google started in a garage. Amazon started in a small office. A lot of big enterprises that you see started as very small businesses that expanded regularly.
You attaining greatness is dependent on you and not on your equipment or gadget. The equipment that you use doesn't matter. It is what you do with what you have that matters.
Conclusion
If you can get rid of these mental barriers, you are on your way to the top. You don't need to know everything or have everything you need. You don't need to be in the mood or have enough time. Get rid of these mental barriers and act now!

Success, failure and the drive to keep creating | Elizabeth Gilbert

These files, icons, associative instructions, etc. may be programmed for your successor for something else. A short look at imagination, association, and emotion as they work together for success or for detriment is the foundation of this article.

The powers of imagination, when mixed with emotion, have far-reaching effects.

When you point this powerful conditioning process toward a worthy objective the results are a dramatic improvement.

Your brains' job is largely to protect you and it won't fail to carry out the protocol.

10 Tools for Dealing with Criticism and Rejection

Ouch! Whether it's feedback we've asked for, an unsolicited remark called out from the audience or a simple "no" result of an audition or submission process, criticism and rejection are a huge part of our lives as creative artists.

Sometimes we're so fearful of being criticized or rejected that we keep our creativity bottled up and don't let it out.

Other times we constantly adapt what we create, focusing only on the "market" and what they seem to be liking or disliking this week. Then we end up feeling like we're not truly expressing our creative impulses.

10 Tools for Dealing with Criticism and Rejection

1. Be Open. You may be hoping for a specific reaction or response to your work, or a specific result of an audition, gallery submission, performance or contest entry. If you've done your best and you're rejected or criticized, you might feel that you've "failed", and it's probably hard to see anything positive about the situation. Try to be open to the possibility that this "failure" is actually leading you to something else, usually better than what you thought you wanted. As I read once in Cheryl Richardson's newsletter, "Any rejection is God's protection".

2. Be Consistent. Keep going, doing the little things every day that keep you creative and that keep you connected to other artists and to your customers. The dramatic moments and big wins and losses will come and go. Have a steady routine you can keep coming back to, and this will help to place any criticism or rejection into perspective. Today is a new day, another day you get to be an artist.

3. Be Focused. Keep your end goal in mind, and always be mindful of why you're doing what you're doing. That will help you focus on the big picture and not get tripped up by each bump in the road along the way.

4. Be Resilient. Remember that your sense of self-worth comes from inside of you. When you're able to be confident in yourself regardless of the feedback you get from external sources, you're able to bounce back much more easily from any negative feedback that you may get.

5. Be Positive. Focus your attention on the positive and you'll attract more of it. This is the premise of the "law of attraction", and I've certainly seen it work in my own life. Hear the positive feedback you receive and replay it over in your mind whenever you need to.

6. Be Clear. Approach constructive feedback with an accurate perspective, not muddled with thoughts from your own inner critic. Take it as a helpful tool for your own growth and remember that ultimately the only opinion that matters is your own - because you need to be happy with what you're producing.

7. Be Grateful. Be gracious to your critics, accept all of the feedback you receive, sit quietly and let it sink in. Be grateful to be actively creating - to have gotten past the fear and other roadblocks. Be grateful for the opportunity to have your work seen and heard. Some never get the chance.

8. Be Responsive. Decide consciously what to do with feedback before responding, instead of reacting with the first thought or words that come to mind.

9. Be Selective. Once you've decided what to do the feedback you've received, be selective and willing to let go of the hurtful feedback. This usually doesn't have anything to do with you anyway; it's a reflection of that person's own happiness, state of mind and comfort with themselves.

10. Be Loving. Be loving of your critic and ESPECIALLY of yourself. Plan some self-care treats for the day of the audition or submission. Regardless of the outcome, you deserve it!

Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.
